Travel Bursaries

Lorne Genome Travel Awards


Students and early career post-docs (<5 years post PhD) who would otherwise be unable to attend the meeting are eligible to apply for one of 10 Lorne Genome Travel Awards ($500each).
Eligibility criteria for these awards are as follows:
•    Applicants are expected to submit an abstract to the conference (oral or poster)
•    A letter from their supervisor should confirm the applicant’s eligibility for the award
An application will consist of a brief description (one paragraph) of the circumstances necessitating additional financial support and the supervisor’s letter of support. It should further include a copy of the applicant’s conference abstract, nominating a preferred category from the list below, and should be e-mailed to the conference secretariat - Annette McClellan, ASN Events, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   • Epigenomics including chromatin and nuclear organization
  • High throughput technologies and genome informatics
  • Plant and microbial genomics including environmental and metagenomics
  • Population and disease genomics including cancer genomics, disease susceptibility and complex traits, such as behaviour
  • Transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and networks including development
  • RNA regulation including small RNAs
  • Chromosome structure and dynamics including DNA repair
